Finding A Career in School Psychology

School psychologists, also known as educational psychologists, are highly coveted in BC school districts.  They play a pivotal role in the school community by leading various initiatives, orchestrating programs and implementing strategies to make schools a healthier place to learn.

Working in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents, school psychologists support students with a range of learning challenges, developmental disabilities, social-emotional, and mental health challenges thrive and succeed in the school environment.

Nine school districts across the province from Vancouver, Prince George, Fort St. John to Greater Victoria are recruiting to fill school psychologist positions immediately. These positions are district-itinerant roles and many of which are full-time continuing positions.

School psychologists employed in BC schools typically have a Master's degree in Educational/School Psychology, BC curriculum knowledge, familiarity with psycho-educational assessments and experience in developing individual education plans (IEPs).  They are also members of the BC Association of School Psychologists.
