How do children learn? Richmond Hosts Learning & Brain Conference
The Richmond School District is holding its Annual Learning and the Brain Conference: "Being Successful Parents – Connecting with 21st Century Kids", taking place on Saturday, April 14th, 2012 at MacNeill Secondary School from 8:00am to 12:30pm.
The conference was originally developed to understand more fully how young children learn. Now in its thirteenth year, it has expanded to include the ways by which all school children- from preschoolers to young adults- develop.
There will be an opportunity to participate in several workshops, and to hear from two keynote speakers- Jesse Miller, a national speaker who will discuss the role of social media in regards to youth; and Tom Schimmer, an education author and consultant who will the explore the importance of confidence in children.
This is a free conference open to all Richmond parents, Caregivers, and Educators of children from preschool to adolescence. Workshops will be presented in both English and Chinese. For more information and to register, please visit the Richmond School District website here.
